ISABEL ALEXANDER British 1910-1996

Isabel Alexander was an artist and illustrator, her work encompassing drawing, water colour, oils, lithography, lino-printing and three-dimensional work.  She has been described by admirers as “the English Georgia O’Keeffe”.  Like many women of her generation, she struggled for opportunity and recognition in an overwhelmingly male field.  Her significance as an artist has only just begun to be recognised.

Isabel Alexander: Artist & Illustrator book and greetings cards by the artist are available at the gallery.
